With Nidesoft DVD to MP4 you can convert DVD movies to MP4 files, which is the most common video format for portable devices such as the iPod, the Zune, the PSP or the iPhone. The program includes also some other formats but focuses mainly on MP4, with different image resolutions according to the quality you want to obtain and the size you'd like the target file to be.

The whole process is really fast and easy: simply open the DVD movie, select the right conversion profile and click on "Convert". The program includes an embedded player but it didn't seem to work properly. My guess is that we lack the appropriate codecs but then again, it would have been nice to receive some feedback - like an error message - from the program.

Also, please notice that Nidesoft DVD to MP4 may not work with commercial DVD movies which are usually protected against any copying or ripping methods.
